Clinical Case: Thyroid Nodule Microwave Ablation

A 48-year-old male patient suffered from a 4.5 cm benign thyroid nodule and refused open surgery due to obvious postoperative neck scarring. Our 1.8 mm single-use microwave ablation needle was adopted for minimally invasive treatment under real-time ultrasound guidance. The whole minimally invasive operation only took 30 minutes, leaving merely a tiny pinhole wound without ugly scars. After 3 months of regular follow-up examination, the nodule shrank sharply to 0.9 cm with complete lesion inactivation.
